Farmacology and Toxicology
Description of activity in the organization
The scientific activity of Marco Milanese is focused on various aspects of neuro- and glio-transmission in the central nervous system.
• Study of the cellular and molecular mechanisms of neurotransmission in disorders of the central nervous system, in particular amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
• Functional studies on the effects of acute and chronic stress and/or pharmacological treatments with psychoactive drugs on neurotransmission and related mechanisms.
• Consolidated experience in behavioral and functional studies, for the characterization of in-vivo and in-vitro experimental models and for studies of clinical progression and related molecular dysfunctions in neurodegenerative disease, in particular amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
